Cambria Scarecrow Festival in Cambria
The Cambria Scarecrow Festival is a month-long, town-wide display running every October across Cambria Village and neighboring San Simeon, begun in 2009 with just thirty scarecrows and now featuring more than two hundred handcrafted entries built by local artists, businesses, and volunteers. Run by a nonprofit, it funds scholarships for Cambria high school graduates pursuing careers in the arts.
Its town-wide folk-art format gives it a quirky seasonal identity.
