Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival in Cape Cod
The Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival is a roughly ten-day, cape-wide series of self-guided private garden tours across towns including Falmouth, Harwich, Chatham, and Provincetown, timed to peak hydrangea bloom each July. Founded in 2015 by garden writer C.L. Fornari with the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, it also includes garden talks, plant sales, and a Master Gardener-run satellite program.
Cape Cod's relationship with hydrangeas runs deep enough that the shrub has become something close to a regional emblem, thriving in the Cape's humid, sandy coastal climate in a way that has shaped the look of gardens across the peninsula for generations.
