Every April, in celebration of national Jazz Appreciation Month, the Chandler Jazz Festival turns Downtown Chandler into a multi-day stage for jazz spanning traditional, fusion, and smooth styles. The free, family-friendly, alcohol-free event features more than 40 hours of live performances from local and national artists across several evenings of outdoor concerts.

Jazz Appreciation Month, established by the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History in 2001 to honor jazz as a uniquely American art form, gave Downtown Chandler the occasion to build a dedicated civic festival around the genre each April.
