Lake Chelan Winterfest in Chelan
Lake Chelan Winterfest is a two-weekend winter festival held each January and February in downtown Chelan and neighboring Manson, centered on live ice carving by professional sculptors. Around twenty carved sculptures using close to fourteen thousand pounds of ice appear throughout the towns alongside a polar bear splash, wine and beer tastings, a beach bonfire, and fireworks.
Lake Chelan Winterfest was built to give the towns of Chelan and Manson, both towns whose economies rely heavily on the lake's busy summer tourist season, a reason to draw visitors during the otherwise quiet winter months of January and February.
