Chicago House Music Festival in Chicago
The Chicago House Music Festival and Conference celebrates a genre the city invented: house music, created largely by Black and LGBTQ+ artists in Chicago's underground club scene of the 1980s. Held free each late August across Millennium Park, Daley Plaza, and the Riverwalk, it pairs an industry conference with DJ sets from house music pioneers.
Its genre-origin identity makes it a strong music-history row.
