Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown
The Glimmerglass Festival stages a summer season of opera and musical theater at the open-air Alice Busch Opera Theater on the shore of Otsego Lake, roughly eight miles north of Cooperstown. Founded in 1975 with a four-performance run of La Boheme in a high school auditorium, it has grown into the second-largest summer opera festival in the United States.
Its destination performing-arts identity makes it a premium New York cultural row.
