Oregon Coast Music Festival in Coos Bay
The longest-running music festival on the Oregon coast, the Oregon Coast Music Festival brings a full festival orchestra and chamber ensembles to Coos Bay, North Bend, Bandon and Charleston each summer, organized by the nonprofit Oregon Coast Music Association across roughly two weeks of concerts.
The southern Oregon coast around Coos Bay built its economy historically on fishing, timber and shipping rather than the arts, making the Oregon Coast Music Festival's survival and growth into the region's longest-running music festival a notable achievement for an area not typically associated with orchestral music.
