Crested Butte Wildflower Festival in Crested Butte
The Crested Butte Wildflower Festival is a ten-day celebration of the alpine and montane wildflowers that bloom around Crested Butte, Colorado, each July. Founded in 1986 as a nonprofit mission-driven event, it offers more than 150 workshops on wildflower identification, photography, painting, pollination biology, culinary uses, and guided hikes through Gunnison Valley meadows.
Crested Butte, Colorado, sits in a high mountain valley where lupine, columbine, Indian paintbrush, and dozens of other wildflower species carpet the meadows for a short window each summer.
