FloydFest in Floyd
FloydFest is a five-day music and arts festival in Southwestern Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, founded in 2002 by a local music-venue owner who wanted to build on the momentum of putting the small town of Floyd on the music map. Known for a genre-spanning lineup blending roots, bluegrass, reggae, Appalachian, and world music, the festival includes on-site camping and multiple stages across a rural mountain setting.
FloydFest began in 2002, growing directly out of momentum its founder had built two years earlier by opening a small, tight-knit music venue and restaurant in Floyd, a small town in Southwestern Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains that had, almost overnight, become a destination for musicians and music lovers who might otherwise never have found reason to visit.
