Greeley Stampede in Greeley

The Greeley Stampede is a two-weekend July celebration in Greeley, Colorado built around a PRCA-sanctioned rodeo, one of the largest in the country, alongside a carnival midway, demolition derby, concerts, and a televised Fourth of July parade. Tracing back to the late 1800s and inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2014, it draws roughly 450,000 visitors annually to Island Grove Regional Park.

Greeley, Colorado was founded in 1870 as a planned agricultural colony inspired by New York Tribune editor Horace Greeley's famous advice to go west, young man, and farming, particularly potato growing, quickly became central to the town's economy and identity.
