Gretna Fest in Gretna
Gretna Fest is a free music festival held in the historic district of Gretna, across the Mississippi River from New Orleans. The event features multiple stages of blues, rock, zydeco and Cajun music alongside food vendors and an arts market, drawing crowds to Gretna's small-town downtown for a weekend each fall.
Gretna sits on the west bank of the Mississippi River directly across from New Orleans, one of the oldest communities in Jefferson Parish, with a historic district that preserves much of its nineteenth and early twentieth century architecture even as the surrounding metropolitan area has grown around it.
