Indy Jazz Fest in Indianapolis
A multi-venue jazz festival in Indianapolis, held in late September each year at venues including The Jazz Kitchen, The Cabaret, and The Vogue. Founded in 1999 to give the city an arts-focused counterpart to its motorsport-heavy events, it now spans several nights of national and local jazz acts.
Indy Jazz Fest was created in 1999 by a coalition of downtown Indianapolis hospitality, civic, and business organizations with a specific goal in mind: giving the city an arts-focused tourism weekend to complement its dominant identity built around the Indianapolis 500 and Brickyard 400.
