Ithaca Porchfest in Ithaca
Ithaca Porchfest began in 2007 when neighbors Gretchen Hildreth and Lesley Greene put about twenty musicians on residential porches across Fall Creek and Northside, creating a free, walkable music festival with no central stage or tickets. Andy Adelewitz joined as co-organizer in 2013, and the concept has since spread to more than 220 communities across the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Two neighbors chatting on their doorsteps in Ithaca, New York's Fall Creek neighborhood came up with an idea in 2007 that would eventually spread to more than 220 communities across three countries: put local musicians on residential porches and let people walk from house to house to hear them.
