Britt Festival brings orchestral, jazz, folk, bluegrass and pop concerts to a natural hillside amphitheater on the former estate of pioneer photographer Peter Britt in Jacksonville, Oregon, drawing summer audiences to reserved bench and open lawn seating under ponderosa pines within walking distance of the town's preserved 1850s gold-rush downtown.

In 1963, Portland conductor John Trudeau and a group of friends went looking for a place in southern Oregon to start a summer music festival.
