Vestival in Knoxville
Vestival was created by Vestal neighborhood volunteers after 2000 as part of the effort to preserve the historic Candoro Marble Building, former showroom and office of a company once described as the nation's largest producer of Tennessee pink marble. Live music, arts and food vendors, children's activity and displays of Vestal and South Knoxville history turn the fundraiser into a public heritage day. Together, those stable practices explain the event more accurately than a changing entertainment roster.
Music and craft tents gather in South Knoxville around a story written in Tennessee pink marble, lumber work and the determination to save a remarkable community building.
