International Climbers' Festival in Lander
The International Climbers' Festival is an annual mid-July gathering in Lander, Wyoming, celebrating rock climbing through clinics, slideshows, gear demonstrations, and social events. Based out of Lander City Park and drawing on the area's renowned nearby climbing at Wild Iris and Sinks Canyon, the festival has run since the late 1990s.
Lander, Wyoming sits at the edge of the Wind River Range and within easy reach of Sinks Canyon and the limestone cliffs of Wild Iris, terrain that developed a reputation among American climbers beginning in the 1990s as some of the best sport climbing in the country, with steep, well-bolted limestone routes that draw climbers from across the United States and beyond.
