The Mint 400 is a major off-road desert race held annually in the Nevada desert near Las Vegas, typically in early spring, and is one of the oldest continuously run off-road races in the United States, dating to 1968. Organized under the Best in the Desert racing series, it draws professional and amateur off-road racers competing across trucks, buggies, and motorcycles over rugged desert terrain.
The Mint 400 began in 1968, sponsored by the Mint Hotel in downtown Las Vegas, a casino property whose name the race carried from its earliest years and that helped establish it as one of the founding events of organized American off-road desert racing.
