Little Rock Marathon in Little Rock

The Little Rock Marathon is Arkansas's largest marathon, a USATF-certified, Boston-qualifying race through downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock each spring. Launched in 2003 as a fund raiser for the city's Parks and Recreation department, it has grown from about 2,500 runners to well over 10,000.

When the Little Rock Marathon launched in 2003, it was conceived less as a showcase race than as a practical fundraiser: organizers wanted a way to generate steady support for the City of Little Rock's Parks and Recreation department.
