AtwoodFest in Madison
AtwoodFest is a free, family-friendly street festival on Atwood Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin's Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara neighborhood, held the last weekend of July. Three music stages, named for Madison musicians Clyde Stubblefield, Luther Allison, and Sugar Maple, host live performances, while the Convergence Parade opens the Saturday festivities alongside local food vendors and neighborhood activities.
AtwoodFest began in 1982 under the name Atwood Summerfest, a modest neighborhood gathering on Madison's near east side long before the Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara area, now commonly shortened to SASY, became known citywide for its walkable strip of independent shops and restaurants.
