Ultra Music Festival in Miami
Ultra Music Festival has brought large-scale electronic dance music to downtown Miami's Bayfront Park each March since its founding in 1999 by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes. Now a three-day event held alongside the Winter Music Conference, Ultra has grown from a two-day beach party into a festival the City of Miami credits with roughly 995 million dollars in economic impact since 2012.
In 1999, Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes launched a two-day electronic music festival on Miami Beach, at a moment when electronic dance music remained a relatively niche scene in the United States compared to Europe.
