Snake River Stampede in Nampa

One of the oldest professional rodeos in the country, the Snake River Stampede has run in Nampa, Idaho since 1913, when it began as a bucking contest at a local harvest festival. Inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2014, the five-day PRCA rodeo moved from its traditional July date to June starting in 2025.

The Snake River Stampede began in 1913 as an informal bucking contest, part of Nampa, Idaho's autumn harvest festival known as the Rodeo and Buck Show, staged on ground where the Nampa Post Office now sits, with no bleachers and only a rope to mark the arena.
