Salmonfest in Ninilchik
Salmonfest is a three-day music and environmental festival held each summer at the ARCHES venue in Ninilchik, Alaska, pairing a touring roots and Americana lineup with fundraising for salmon habitat and Cook Inlet conservation causes. The 2026 edition runs July 31 through August 2 and includes the Smoked Salmon Super Bowl, a judged competition among Alaska smokehouses now in its sixth year.
On the western Kenai Peninsula, salmon are not just a fish, they are the economic backbone of towns like Homer, Soldotna, and Ninilchik, and Salmonfest was built to put that relationship on stage rather than leave it in the background.
