PDX Jazz Festival in Portland
The PDX Jazz Festival, now branded the Biamp Portland Jazz Festival, spreads more than 100 performances across dozens of Portland venues, from The Old Church and Revolution Hall to Aladdin Theater and Mississippi Studios. Produced by the nonprofit PDX Jazz, each edition builds around a curatorial theme honoring a jazz figure or era and has featured artists including Wayne Shorter, Esperanza Spalding, Dianne Reeves, and McCoy Tyner.
Portland's jazz festival grew out of a broader effort by local musicians and organizers to give the city's jazz scene a dedicated annual showcase, formalizing what became the Portland Jazz Festival and later PDX Jazz, produced by the nonprofit organization of the same name.
