Prescott Frontier Days in Prescott
Prescott Frontier Days has staged the World's Oldest Rodeo at the Prescott Rodeo Grounds every year since 1888, a name the U.S. Patent Office formally registered in 1985. The Independence Week celebration pairs eight rodeo performances with parades, dances, and community events each late June and early July, drawing roughly 27,000 spectators to one of the country's longest continuously running rodeos.
Prescott began holding organized rodeo competitions in 1888, when Arizona was still a territory more than two decades from statehood, making the event now known as Prescott Frontier Days one of the oldest continuously staged rodeos in the United States.
