Rochester International Jazz Festival in Rochester
The Rochester International Jazz Festival fills 19 venues around downtown Rochester's East Avenue and Gibbs Street for nine days each June, mixing free outdoor stages with ticketed club performances. Founded in 2002 by John Nugent and Marc Iacona, it has grown from about 15,000 attendees in its first year into the largest jazz festival in New York State.
Its downtown venue network and scale make it one of New York's strongest music rows.
