California Rodeo Salinas in Salinas
California Rodeo Salinas has run since 1911, when it began as a Wild West show at the old Sherwood Race Track before adopting its current name by 1913. Now a PRCA-sanctioned event ranking among the tour's top prize-money rodeos, it draws around 600 competitors and roughly 50,000 spectators to the Salinas Sports Complex each July for bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, and saddle bronc competition.
Its longevity and scale make it one of California's strongest Western-sport events.
