Festival at Sandpoint in Sandpoint
Since 1982, the Festival at Sandpoint has brought an eight-day outdoor concert series to War Memorial Field on Lake Pend Oreille, mixing a founding Symphony Night with headline rock, country, and pop acts. What began as a small classical series with the Spokane Symphony now draws around 4,000 people a night for lakeside lawn concerts each summer.
The Festival at Sandpoint began with a straightforward civic goal: in 1982, a group of local volunteers in this small North Idaho lake town wanted to bring symphonic music to the region and, in the process, give the local economy a summer boost.
