Somerville PorchFest in Somerville
Somerville PorchFest is a free, one-day community music festival in which residents open their porches, yards, and driveways to local musicians, filling the city with hundreds of simultaneous performances each May. Organized by the Somerville Arts Council since the early 2010s and inspired by Ithaca, New York's original Porchfest, the 2026 edition takes place Saturday, May 9, with more than 500 acts performing across three time-zoned neighborhood sections of the city.
Somerville PorchFest belongs to a wider Porchfest movement that began in Ithaca, New York, where residents first turned their front porches into informal concert stages in the mid-2000s.
