Staunton Music Festival in Staunton
The Staunton Music Festival brings more than ninety chamber, vocal, and symphonic musicians from around the world to historic downtown Staunton, Virginia, each August for ten days of concerts across roughly thirty performances. Now in its late twenties of annual editions, the festival stages performances in historic churches and the recreated Blackfriars Playhouse, pairing classical works with new commissioned music.
Staunton, Virginia, sits in the Shenandoah Valley at the junction of Interstate 64 and Interstate 81, a compact historic city whose downtown has been carefully preserved and remains dense with churches and civic buildings dating to the nineteenth century.
