Yellow Pine Harmonica Festival in Yellow Pine
The Yellow Pine Harmonica Festival began in 1990 after a statehood-celebration challenge encouraged Idaho communities to invent local events. A harmonica contest remains the anchor, joined by concerts, informal playing and workshops that have included beginner and intermediate instruction using a harmonica in the key of C, with dedicated opportunities for children. The recurring practices—harmonica competition, beginner and youth instruction, and informal street and community-hall playing—tie the public program to the place and the people who sustain it.
