Namangan Lavender Festival in Namangan
The Lavender Festival is one of more than 100 events staged within Namangan's International Flower Festival, held in Pap district and centered on lavender fields that bloom alongside the city's citywide flower displays each spring and summer, a themed strand of Central Asia's largest flower celebration rather than a fully separate event.
Namangan's flower festival began modestly in August 1961 as a local flower show in the Fergana Valley city, a Soviet-era horticultural exhibition typical of the period's civic pride events.
