Hoi An Mid-Autumn Festival in Hoi An
Hoi An's Mid-Autumn Festival is the town's local observance of Vietnam's nationwide Tet Trung Thu, layered onto the fifteenth night of the eighth lunar month with children's lantern parades, unicorn and lion dance competitions, and moon-viewing in the Ancient Town, distinct from the town's separate monthly Lantern Festival.
Across Vietnam, Tet Trung Thu belongs mainly to children: lanterns, mooncakes, and visiting lion dance troupes mark the full moon of the eighth lunar month in cities and villages alike.
