Hue Spring Festival in Hue
Hue Spring Festival, promoted locally as Xuan Co Do, Spring in the Ancient Capital, is a season of royal and folk Tet-related events staged across Hue from January through March. It forms one of four seasonal programs under the broader Hue Festival umbrella, which has run in various forms since 1992, and recreates Nguyen-dynasty New Year rituals such as the calendar distribution ceremony.
Hue Spring Festival, branded locally as Xuan Co Do or Spring in the Ancient Capital, is the first of four seasonal programs, spring, summer, autumn and winter, that make up the broader Hue Festival, an ongoing cultural program that traces back to a 1992 cultural exchange between Hue and French partner Codev and formally adopted the Hue Festival name in 2000.
