Ba Ria - Vung Tau Sea Festival in Vung Tau
The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Sea Festival is a provincial tourism event distinct from Vung Tau's traditional Nghinh Ong whale-worship festival, historically held in late August or September with a program of Vespa scooter parades, an ao dai and sea-costume performance, a culinary contest, and a carnival.
Vung Tau sits at the tip of a peninsula in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, southeast Vietnam's coastal gateway from Ho Chi Minh City, and the province has more than one festival built around the sea it depends on.
