Kasanka Bat Migration Festival in Kasanka/Serenje

Every year from October to December, an estimated ten million straw-coloured fruit bats converge on a two-hectare patch of Mushitu swamp forest inside Kasanka National Park in Zambia's Central Province. Widely described as the largest mammal migration on Earth, it draws travelers to simple tree hides for dawn and dusk flights over the forest canopy.
