Mosi Day of Thunder in Livingstone
Mosi Day of Thunder is an annual music festival in Livingstone, Zambia, sponsored by Zambian Breweries under its Mosi Lager brand and named for Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders, the local name for Victoria Falls. Its ninth edition in 2026 drew a record 12,280 attendees, making it the largest event ever held in the city.
Livingstone, Zambia's self-styled tourism capital and gateway to Victoria Falls, has hosted Mosi Day of Thunder for nine consecutive editions, a music festival whose name borrows directly from Mosi-oa-Tunya, the smoke that thunders, the indigenous Lozi and Tonga name for the waterfall that draws visitors to the city year-round.
