Carnivals and parades are among the oldest forms of public celebration. They often carry traces of religion, season, rebellion, class reversal, satire, and community release. Behind the spectacle, there is usually a deeper reason people need this day to exist.

That is why carnival feels different from a normal event. The city is not simply decorating itself for visitors; it is releasing pressure, exaggerating identity, laughing at authority, honoring tradition, or giving people permission to step outside daily roles.
